Go-Karting for Beginners in Jaipur: 8 Tips for Your First Race

Your first race will feel fast, and that is the fun of it. These eight tips help you go from nervous to "one more race" in a single session.
1. Why does the safety briefing matter?
Our marshals (the trained track crew) explain the flags and the track rules before every race. Knowing what each flag means lets you relax and focus on driving.
2. How should you use the first laps?
Treat them as a tour. Our Jaipur track has 13 turns over 450 m, half outdoor and half covered. Learn where each corner is before you push.
3. When should you brake?
Brake in a straight line, before the corner. Then ease off the brake and turn. Braking while turning makes the kart slide and costs time.
4. What is a racing line?
It is the smoothest path through a corner. Start wide on the way in, move close to the inside in the middle, then let the kart run wide on the way out. It lets you carry more speed.

5. Why is smooth better than aggressive?
Sharp steering and sudden braking upset the kart. Small, steady inputs keep it planted, and your lap times drop.
6. Where should you look?
Look ahead to the next corner, not at the nose of your kart or the driver in front. Your hands follow your eyes.
7. How close can you get to other karts?
Keep a gap. Bumping other karts or barriers is not allowed. If someone faster is behind you, hold your line and let the marshals' flags guide you.
8. How do you improve after the race?
Check the leaderboard and your race analysis sheet. Look for your best lap and ask what you did differently on it. Then book a second race and try to beat it.
What should a beginner wear and know?
Comfortable clothes and closed shoes. Crocs are fine; flip-flops and heels aren't recommended.
No loose sarees, dupattas or scarves on the track.
No driving licence needed.
Drivers need to be at least 5 years old, 4 ft tall and up to 120 kg.
